Racing TV will also show the horse racing meet in the UK
ITV and Racing TV will air the Ebor Festival horse racing meet in the UK.
A record 40 broadcasters have picked up the festival worldwide, with York Racecourse working alongside Racecourse Media Group and HBA Media to secure the distribution. It will be available to watch in 140 territories around the world, and is part of RMG and HBA’s Crown Jewels Racing (CJR) broadcast package - a new distribution strategy which Broadcast Sport spoke to them about earlier this year.
These include ITV and Racing TV (UK), Fanduel (US), Sky Racing (Australia), Green Channel (Japan), Dubai Racing Channel and Yas (Abu Dhabi), which will all have broadcast teams on the ground in Knavesmire.
In addition, Netkeiba in Japan, and HKJC TV, Cable TV, TVB and Now TV in Hong Kong, as well as Fox Sports (US), ESPN / Disney + in South America and Caribbean, Viaplay in Europe, and Fancode in India will be showing the racing.
The highlight of the four-day festival (August 20 to 23) is the Juddmonte International at 3.35pm (BST / Local) on Wednesday, 20 August, which will be the focus of a special 90-minute Crown Jewels Racing production, designed to appeal to networks which don’t have the scheduling space to take the full world feed (1.30pm to 4pm), which is available all four days.
William Derby, CEO and clerk of the course at York Racecourse, said: “We’re delighted to see that the home of the Longines World’s Best Race is proving ever more appealing to broadcasters and their viewers. The quality and heritage of British racing over high summer is finding a global audience which can only be good for the sport. We will offer a warm Yorkshire welcome to the visiting networks.“
