Prime Video will launch three-part docuseries Rio Ferdinand’s Tipping Point on 11 November.

The series takes a look at the key issues affecting football today, including the status of race, sexuality and mental health in the game today both on and off the pitch. It will look at the game from the elite to the grassroots level.

The former Manchester United and England player will search for solutions to these problems, with each episode focusing on a different question. Episode one examines “Why is football racist, and why is it getting worse?”, the second investigates “Why is there no openly gay footballer in the Premier League?”, and the last looks into “Why is there an unknown and unreported mental health crisis in academy football?”.

Rio Ferdinand’s Tipping Point is produced by Sportfive/Brave with Circle Circle Films and New Era Ingenious and is directed by Matt Smith (Rooney).

Ferdinand said, “I have spent most of my life in the football world and have experienced racism first-hand, as well as witnessing the impact of homophobia and mental health across the game. It has been a process and a journey which has been educational, seeing sport through a different lens. As an industry we’reat a tipping point and real change needs to be made to safeguard the future of our game.”
