Minus 1 pairs WSL stars with personalities from sport, music, culture and beyond

Sky Sports has launched Minus 1, a social series that pairs WSL stars with personalities from sport, music, culture and beyond.
The first episode sees Manchester United’s Ella Toone and Olympic gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson spend time at United’s training ground. The duo, who are childhood friends, discuss dreaded sports massages and dressing room nerves, as well as the final touches that go into getting matchday ready and compare what elite level preparation looks like for them.
Minus 1 aims to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the lives of players in the build-up to matchdays, showcasing their personalities outside of the 90 minutes. It will mainly be available as short-form content on Sky Sports’ social channels across the season with Ella Toone’s episode live on the Sky Sports WSL TikTok channel.
Toone said: “It was so nice to catch up with Keely again and show her what a day in a life looks like for me. There are obvious similarities in preparation, but you can see just how tough it can be working as an individual versus being a part of a team. Hopefully the series will allow fans to see all the unseen little moments that go into making us shine on the pitch.”
