It will share the rights with the BBC in the UK
TNT Sports 3 will show the European Athletics Championships from 10-16 August, after a rights deal agreed by Warner Bros. Discovery.
The broadcasting giant has picked up non-exclusive rights across Europe, with TNT Sports to show it in the UK and Ireland while Eurosport 1 will show it on the continent. HBO Max will be the streaming home across all territories. The deal covers 46 countries, which is all of Europe excluding the Nordics, Poland and Russia.
The rights are shared with free-to-air broadcasting group the European Broadcasting Union, which agreed a deal earlier this summer. In the UK, this sees the BBC show the competition, which is taking place in Birmingham. It is the first time that the event has been held in the UK in its 92-year history.
Every event - including 24 men’s, 24 women’s and two mixed relays - will stream live and on demand on HBO Max, with in-app features such as Multiview and timeline highlights tool Key Moments.
