Chello DMC is launching a year-long study into international TV channel strategies.

The Amsterdam-based playout provider will host panel and networking events throughout the year, where senior executives from the international broadcast industry will discuss the challenges and opportunities of delivering localised TV channels in an international market.

The first event is set to take place later this month in Madrid. It will be followed by a second panel discussion in October in Budapest.

Chello DMC vice president Jon Try said: “TV without Boundaries will bring the key players from all over Europe together to discuss the challenges, opportunities and new developments for effective international TV channel strategies.

“We are extremely excited to be backing this programme and hope that the initiative and resultant findings will identify the paths to successfully navigate through a highly competitive market.”

TV without Boundaries will examine the future of translation services, subtitles and language tracks, how to best introduce new feeds to local markets, the best mix of distribution over fibre and satellite and the commercial reasons for going into new markets.

The Madrid event, which will take place on Thursday 26th April at Hotel Urban, will be moderated by media commentator David Del Valle. He will be joined by Chello Multicanal chief technology officer Rodolfo Garcia, Antena 3 Group chief technology officer Jose Maria Casaos, Wuaki chief executive Jacinto Roca and ONO head of TV operations Pablo de la Cruz.
