Former Technicolor managing director Maurizio Cimelli has been appointed as senior vice president of EMEA at Ascent Media, a move that effectively makes him the boss of the Group’s UK business.

Currently working as a consultant at Incito Media, Cimelli will become part of the senior management team in the UK working alongside chief technology officer Adrian Bull and operations vice president Simon Constable.

In his new role, Cimelli will oversee sales, business development and P&L for content services businesses across the UK and EMEA region. He will report directly to Tom Kuehle, executive vice president of strategic solutions.  

Cimelli said: “Ascent Media’s expertise as a thought leader and service provider for businesses making, managing, moving and monetizing rich media content, makes the company extremely well-positioned for the future. I want to provide our team in the EMEA region with the strategic resources they need to further accelerate our growth in a highly competitive convergent world.”

Cimelli was managing director of the London Playout Centre before it was bought by Ascent Media in 2004.

He starts his new job this week.
