Cintel’s head of research, Terry Mead, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Mead, who was given the honour for services to the film scanning industry, originally joined Rank Cintel in 1964 and has been involved in the research and development of new products at Cintel since the late 1970s. He was promoted to head of research in 1994.

Although officially retired, Mead still provides consultation services to Cintel. Some of his 14 US and 25 EU patents are used by other manufacturers in the industry and he still has two patents pending.
