Blue 2.0 has made another appointment to its senior management team with former British Film Commissioner Colin Brown joining the post facility as vice chairman.

Brown’s most recent role was general manager at Lucasfilm Animation. He has also held the role of chief executive of Cinesite Global and managing director at Molinare.

Brown stepped down from his role as British Film Commissioner in 2011.

His appointment follows the recruitment of Mark Bos, who joined the company last week.

Brown said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all the principals [at Blue 2.0] for a considerable number of years.

“The combination of their experience and vision makes this partnership one from which great things can be expected.

“It is an undeniable fact, people ‘make’ a company and the management team at Blue 2.0, with its international, financial and business-specific expertise, has all the elements present to make a significant mark in both local and international markets.

“I look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”

Prime Focus sold its UK broadcast post production business to new company Blue 2.0 in March.

Blue 2.0 managing director Parvinder Bhatia said: “Along with our recent appointment of former Fremantlemedia executive Mark Bos, as executive director, Colin’s joining Blue 2.0, will provide impetus to our growth plans both in the UK and globally, across post production services, VFX, animation, production technology and asset management.”

Chairman and chief executive Atul Setia added: “As the business expands and develops we plan to add further senior creative and business members to Blue 2.0.

“Colin and Mark’s appointments are part of a long-term strategy and vision for the company to become a global leader.”
