Eceni will develop comedies and other formats such as quiz shows.
Gould had a long association with Dad's Army co-creator David Croft, initially as a second assistant on Hi-De-Hi! and subsequently as a director on You Rang, M'Lord? and Oh, Doctor Beeching! He also directed ITV1's Martin Clunes vehicle The Booze Cruise.
Penny Croft, David's daughter, created 1980s BBC1 comedy Life Without George and helped to develop My Family, co-writing the first episode.
Later this month, they are shooting a pilot of Your Number's Up, a quick-fire knockout game show presented by Les Dennis. It will be the last programme to be filmed at the EPIC studios in Norwich before the building closes for a£1.5m HD upgrade.
Also in development is a documentary about David Croft's TV career and two sitcoms penned by Penny.
Gould has already filmed a pilot for comedy Zip and Hollow, initially under the banner of David's indie Worldwide Theatrics, but now planned as a co-production if picked up for a series.
A script for Blood, a BBC1 studio-based comedy about grown-up siblings, is in development for BBC regional comedy commissioner Cheryl Taylor.
Croft said of the move into quiz shows: “We want to cover a wide spectrum of entertainment, not just situation comedy, so when Roy came up with this format, it seemed a perfect fit.”
