IBC 2013: Cambridge-based system integrator and manufacturer dB Broadcast will show its new DVB-T2 broadcast monitoring receiver for the first time at IBC.

The IQDBT105 has been developed from the Merlin and Hawkeye B105 receiver modules.

Sales and marketing director at dB Broadcast Tom Swan said: “This is a natural development for our range as we take our leading monitoring and acquisition module and make it compatible with the popular Snell IQ Modular range.”

The modular format allows up to eight receiver modules in a 3RU frame.

Features of the IQDBT105 unit include an SNMP interface that allows integration with network management systems for monitoring and control, which dB Broadcast said makes the receiver ideal for use at unmanned transmitter sites.

The module monitors key RF signal performance parameters such as modulation error ratio (MER) to give early indication of signal degradation, and low density parity check (LDPC) to determine the status of error correction.

Programmable user templates can be used to compare RF modulation parameters with the ideal signal.

Transport stream ASI parameters are monitored including PAT conformance and PID presence against a user defined list of expected PIDs.
