Discreet is to streamline its management operation as part of a rationalisation process announced by its US parent company, Autodesk.

Despite record sales, Autodesk, which employs 4,000 people worldwide, wants to cut between 550 and 650 jobs over the next year across its operations.

Autodesk's director of corporate communications, Alain Bourget, said the move will "enable Autodesk to return to an 18% to 20% operating margin".

He added: "Discreet is streamlining its organisational structure. Additional changes will be necessary over the next five quarters. No decision has yet been made about changes in any specific region."
