NAB 2016: There was a slight drop in the number attendees at this year’s NAB despite an extra 85 companies exhibiting at the show.

According to figures released by NAB, there were 103,012 total registered attendees at last week’s show. In 2015 there were 103,119.

Over the past few years the number attendees, exhibitors and square footage of the exhibition space has risen (see box below).

Aided by the launch of dedicated zones for virtual reality kit manufacturers and vendors of drone equipment the number of exhibitors increased year-on-year; this year the figure stood at 1,874, compared with 1,789 in 2015.

To accommodate the additional exhibitors the total area of the show increased in size by almost 5% from 1,013,544 sq ft in 2015 to 1,063,380 sq ft this year.

International and news media attendance figures are included in the overall registration number. All numbers are based on pre-show and on-site registration and subject to an on-going audit.
