The Digital Television Group (DTG) will release an update of its D-Book later this month that will provide the specification for providing catch-up services on Freeview HD.

Version 6.2 will be most keenly concerned with the Connected TV and will have two new updates: an outline support for MHEG xplayers and details for Record Lists which are broadcast defined groups of content and off schedule capacity.

The D-Books are used by set-top box and TV set and other device manufacturers to guide development of their products.

Simon Gauntlett, the DTG’s technology director, speaking at the DTG Summit said that D-Book 7 is already on the way with seven technical groups pinpointed for developing the Connected TV specification.
