As if proof were needed that viewers navigate their way around TV schedules with the alacrity of a Livingstone or a Stanley (but maybe not Glen Miller’s pilot), BBC3’s catch-up transmission of EastEnders dominated proceedings this week.

Elsewhere, Al Murray benefited from repeating his meat and More 4 got a nice topical boost.

Last week, BBC3’s EastEnders catch-up at 10pm averaged 820,000/4%. This week, with BBC1’s transmission knocked by Britain’s Got Talent, BBC3’s average rose to 1.4 million/7%. Ahh, Albert Square I presume.

Dave’s second episode of Al Murray’s Compete For The Meat achieved 165,000/1% (incl +1) on Thursday at 9pm, down more than 100,000 on debut. However, Sunday’s repeat at 10pm achieved 175,000/1% (incl +1), the second best live rating so far.

More 4 picked up 525,000/3% (incl +1) for its topical Captive For 18 Years: The Jaycee Lee Story, following the US kidnapping trial.
