The Edit Store has completed a major HD expansion costing over £500,000.

The facility has bought an Edifis Finaliser picture grading system to cater to a growing number of HD enquiries. The purchase is the company's first foray into dedicated grading. The Edifis completes Edit Store's HD workflow, following installation of an HD Nitris and Fairlight Dream Constellation mixing desk.

Company director Chris Rodmell said: 'There's always a demand for grading and it felt like the right time to take that step up.' Grading had previously been offered on the Symphony and Nitris systems. Rodmell added: 'HD enquiries have grown over the last year and we already have some [HD] projects lined up.'

Rodmell also hinted they may take on another colourist to join senior colourist Mike Sanders.

The Edit Store is one of the BBC preferred suppliers and has worked on projects such as D-Day to Berlin, Timewatch, The Secret Policeman and The Secret Agent.
