Fineline Media Finance has provided funding to the MAMA Youth Project to purchase two Avid Media Composer Symphony edit suites

The Avid systems, which include hardware and monitors, are part of an upgrade to HD that allows productions produced by the project to adhere to Sky 1 standards.

MYP annually recruits and trains 48 disadvantaged young people aged between 16-25 in a range of core production skills including research, camera work, lighting and sound operation, location-finding, editing, and production paperwork.

As part of the training programme participants work together to produce six episodes of What’s Up, a magazine-style show that recently moved from Pick TV to Sky 1.

MAMA Youth Project founder and chief executive Bob Clarke said: “We are committed to getting young people into employment and to bringing diversity to the media industry.

“The content that our trainees produce is outstanding, and gives them a substantial taste of real-world production that makes them excellent candidates for employers.”
