Jellyfish Pictures, winner of a Bafta craft award for best visual effects work on the BBC's Fight for Life, has made five freelancers permanent in its 3D, compositing and research and development departments.

The appointments include Tim Smyllie as head of design and motion -graphics, producer Stefano Salvini and head compositor Fabio Zaveti.

Jellyfish Pictures has won a host of graphics and effects trophies for its work on Fight For Life including an RTS Craft and Design gong and a Bafta Craft award.

Fight for Life uses photorealistic animation and CG recreation to tell the dramatic story of how the human body triumphs in crisis.
