Senior VFX artist Rod Norman has left The Mill in order to head-up a new Nuke division at Golden Square Post Production.

Norman (pictured) will lead a team of six artists under the banner Studio SQ and provide 2D, 3D and stereoscopic visual effects for commercials, broadcast, promos and virals.

The division will be based around The Foundry’s visual effects compositing software Nuke.

Norman said: “Nuke’s speed and ability to heighten the collaborative relationship between 2D and 3D makes it a valuable asset for delivering high-end VFX for today’s challenging deadlines.”

Norman’s credits include Jack Morton virals for Nokia and a 3D cinematic release promo for Doctor Who.

Golden Square has worked on campaigns for Orange, Nike, Sky, Coca Cola, Gucci and HSBC amongst others.
