France Télévisions is employing Avid Everywhere for its production of a daily highlights package of the 2015 Tour de France.

Avid’s MediaCentral Platform will be used to manage the large volume of race footage and enable the post-production team to work collaboratively in creating highlights packages.

The France Télévisions OB van accompanying the Tour houses a full Avid post-production workflow, incorporating Avid Interplay Production, Avid ISIS shared storage, and Avid Media Composer editing stations.

Content from two EVS video servers in a separate OB truck feed directly to the OB van’s two Avid ISIS 5500 shared storage systems, and the Avid Interplay Production suite helps ensure continuity of metadata throughout the production chain.

France Télévisions technical manager Gilles Parcq said: “We needed a robust post-production solution that could be set up easily each day, and that would enable us to manage a significant amount of content to help our editors find and work with the right clips.”
