Freesat has appointed Matthew Huntington as the company’s chief technology officer.

Huntington, who is replacing James Strickland, has been tasked with delivering Freesat’s future technology roadmap.

He will be responsible for selecting technology suppliers, managing manufacturing partners, and the delivery of new broadcast and on demand services and will work closely alongside Freesat’s director of product development, Dan Chronnell.

Huntington is currently vice president of product marketing for Nagra, where he is responsible for managing the company’s B2B product strategy and positioning.

Freesat managing director Emma Scott said: “Matthew will be instrumental in shaping and driving the evolution of Freesat’s service and I know he will be an asset to the team.”

Huntington will join Freesat on 1 May.
