Brian Cox: Succession actor is among cast

Succession star Brian Cox and Dracula’s Claes Bang are among a host of TV stars filming a drama pilot from their homes with all proceeds going to help freelancers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Deadline, filming is underway on the pilot for The Agoraphobics Detective Society, which is being put together by UK film producer Maggie Monteith, (Swimming with Men) and an all-female team of writers and directors.

The pilot will be uploaded later this month to the Pinpoint Presents British independent film site, with viewers asked to donate what they can to the UK Film and TV Charity’s Emergency Covid-19 Relief Fund for freelancers, along with the Motion Picture & TV Fund in the US.

Also starring presenter Mariella Frostrup, Misfits’ Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, The Meyerowitz Stories’ Grace Van Patten and Transparent’s Ian Harvie, the drama is about a distraught group of patients who band together to find a renowned expert psychiatrist who has recently disappeared without explanation.

Bang’s Dracula co-star Dolly Wells is one of a trio of writer-directors alongside 10 x 10’s Suzi Ewing and Heidi Greensmith.

Quiz writer James Graham recently donated his fee for writing the ITV drama to charity Funds for Freelancers, to support those out of work.

The Covid-19 Relief Fund launched last week with initial donations totalling £2.5m.
