British TV’s best pitcher will be revealed on the first day of the Edinburgh TV Festival later this week.

The BBC Academy’s The Killer Pitch session will take place at 11am on Thursday (23 August) and will see representatives from Lion Television, Twofour and Victory Television go head to head to be named the best in the industry at selling their ideas.

The BBC Academy asked around 45 senior figures from across the industry to come up with the results.

Commissioners and controllers who took part include BBC3 controller Zai Bennett, Discovery Networks UK senior vice-president of programming Dan Korn, UKTV director of commissioning Jane Rogerson and Channel 5 director of programmes Jeff Ford.

Two weeks ago Broadcast revealed the top five pitchers, which included the three finalists plus The Garden Productions and Renegage Pictures.

The MediaGuardian Edinburgh International TV Festival runs from Thursday 23 August to Saturday 25 August.
