Killing Eve and Extraordinary creative joins as Rebus indie looks to ’super-charge’ slate

Eleventh Hour Films is “super-charging” its slate with the hire of former Sid Gentle and House creative Grace Calvert to head up development, Broadcast can reveal.
The drama label is currently producing its second series of the award-winning series Rebus for the BBC and is in post on Marble Hall Murders, also for the BBC and PBS Masterpiece.
Calvert took up her Eleventh Hour role at the end of March, and will oversee several titles in development at the Sony Picture Television-owned label, focusing on building out commercial returning series, based on original ideas and IP.
She started her TV career at Sid Gentle Films, where she worked across the three series of the Bafta and Emmy award-winning Killing Eve, ITV’s The Durrells and Disney+’s Extraordinary.

She was also assistant script edited on the BBC and HBO’s Rain Dogs which she helped develop from Cash Carraway’s memoir Skint Estate.
In 2023, Calvert moved to BBC Studios label House Productions, where she was promoted to development executive and devised several projects with both high-profile and up-and-coming writers.
Paula Cuddy and Eve Gutierrez, co-chief executives of Eleventh Hour, said Calvert has “worked across some of the most popular and acclaimed dramas of recent years, which have connected with audiences the world over”.
They continued: “Having Grace on board with her focus on commercial returning projects across originals and IP, we look forward to super-charging the slate, and together driving forwards the next creative chapter for the company.”
