The first part of the live Come and Have a Go... If You Think You're Smart Enough , a co-production between the BBC and Tailor-Made Films, pulled in just 3.9 million (19.7% share) over 50 minutes from 18.55. The show, which gives viewers the chance to win £30,000 of prize money, managed to reach a high of 4.3 million (20.6%). The slot average currently stands at around 4.5 million (25%).
It was a long way behind ITV1's light entertainment show Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway which drew 7.4 million (36.3%), also at 18.55. The show reached a peak of 8 million (36.8%) at 19.55.
Giving BBC1 some cause for concern was BBC2's repeat of the feature-length Miss Marple mystery 4.50 from Paddington. The 1987 Agatha Christie adaptation starring Joan Hickson as the elderly sleuth picked up 3.1 million (15.4%).
Part two of Come and Have a Go? at 21.10 fared better with 4.7 million (21.1%) over 20 minutes, following on from Casualty which drew 8.2 million (35.9%). Once again though it wasn't enough to topple ITV1 from the top spot. The ITV Weekend News at 21.15 informed 5.5 million (24.8%).
