Winchester-based broadcast technology company Ionoco is providing gameplay technology for three US quiz show formats.

Family Feud and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, as well as the new format Downfall (pictured), are all using systems based around the company’s proprietary software platform Ionologic. 

At the same time, Ionoco has completed five gameshow pilots shot on both the east and west coasts of America including two using recently developed multi-touch screen technology (Broadcast 30.04.10).

Ionoco managing director Simon Ingram said: “The sheer number of shows and pilots that we are working on demonstrates that Ionoco is now the go-to company for high-quality game show technology in the US.”

Downfall, produced by FremantleMedia North America for ABC, sees contestants attempt to answer a series of pop culture questions on top of a 10-story building to avoid their own ‘downfall’. 

Ionoco has an office in Los Angeles.
