ITV has invested in a raft of Sony HXC-100 cameras for its studio productions.

The kit will be installed across its Salford, Meridian and Leeds facilities.

It is the first phase of a migration to a full tapeless workflow.

ITV has also invested in Sony’s PMW-500 shoulder mount XDCAM camcorders (pictured) and PMW-EX1 cameras for external newsgathering across its Salford operation.

More of its UK regional operations are expected to follow suit.

Sony said it is the first time the broadcaster has standardised its acquisition with one manufacturer.
