021 Television has won the contract to provide outside broadcast facilities for ITV's coverage of the FA Cup and England football Internationals from next season.

The FA Cup contract consists of approximately sixteen live matches and seventeen highlight games per season.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth rounds of the competition will require two large live OBs and up to three highlights OBs. ITV and 021 will cover one semi-final as well as the final.

The Internationals deal includes coverage of every home England qualifier for the 2010 World Cup. The first game will be England versus Kazakhstan at Wembley on 11 October.

Mark Sharman, ITV director of news and sport said: ““We have worked with O21 many times previously and they always deliver high quality broadcasts. Their experienced crew work to any challenge and they are an important partner for this new work.”

FA Cup coverage will be produced in high definition using Units 6, 7 and 8 together with a presentation Unit that is currently in production and due in the new year.

O21 Television chief operating officer Warren Newbert, said: “We are enhancing our resources constantly with equipment upgrades and new builds to ensure we stay ahead of the game and deliver an outstanding service.”

021 Television is part of the Gravity Media Group. It was bought from ITV in 2006 for approximately£4.5m.
