Stephen Mulhern-fronted revival of the 90s game show scores extended run and festive special

ITV has made a play for a second, extended run of its revival of the 90s game show format You Bet!.

Having debuted a pair of 75-minute episodes in December, the Rollercoaster Television-produced show will return for a 6 x 60-minute run as well as a Christmas special.

The second series will leave the studio and go on-the-road, with each episode seeing a panel of celebrities – featuring Holly Willoughby, Zoe Ball, Rob Beckett, Alex Brooker, Rylan Clark, Alesha Dixon and Alison Hamond – join Mulhern at various locations across the UK.

With the panel even closer to the action, You Bet! asks the celebrities to predict whether each player can complete their challenge, with each participant competing for a £5,000 cash prize, and the stars vie to become that week’s You Bet! champion.

The opening episode of the series debut run landed with 2.6m (21.3%), with ITV reporting that two parts reached over 12m viewers across ITV1 and streaming platform ITVX.

Joint managing director of Rollercoaster Television James Fox and Dom Waugh said: “If you bet that we’d be heading out and about across the country, having even more fun with our celebrity panel, and delivering even bigger and more spectacular challenges - then you’d be 100% right!”

The second series was ordered by director of entertainment and daytime commissioning Katie Rawcliffe alongside entertainment commissioning editor Louise Major.

Exec producers for Rollercoaster are Jonny Lusk and Chris Lore.

You Bet! is based on the successful format Wanna Bet? from German broadcaster ZDF and is distributed worldwide by ZDF Studios, with ITV Studios holding options to produce the format in France, Australia and the Nordics.
