The Bottle Yard is new home of ITV quiz show following a bumper order
ITV quiz show Tipping Point is to move to Bristol’s The Bottle Yard studios, with an order for more than 350 episodes over two years.
The daytime format, which was previously filmed in London’s Fountain Studios, will join fellow RDF Television’s Channel 4 show The Crystal Maze in the Bristol facility.
RDF label Fizz will produce the ninth and tenth series of the format, which will comprise a combined 330 regular episodes, plus 24 episodes of its primetime celebrity version Tipping Point Lucky Stars, which has raised almost £500,000 for charity in its five series. Ben Shephard stays on as host.
The iconic Tipping Point machine is now being assembled in an 8,000 sq ft studio at The Bottle Yard. Control rooms and all backstage elements of production will also be based at the Studios.
Site director Fiona Francombe said: ”Welcoming a second major gameshow from Fizz and RDF is a fantastic reinforcement of our relationship and simply great news for Bristol.”
Fizz creative director Peter Usher said: “The Tipping Point team are thrilled to be undertaking this substantial order and committed to delivering a host of thrilling jackpot finales from our new home at The Bottle Yard Studios.”
The show was recommissioned by ITV joint heads of daytime Jane Beacon and Clare Ely. Exec producers are Usher, Sara Doyle and Hugh Rycroft for Fizz and series editor is Kate Lownds.
Tipping Point is a Banijay Group format.
