A new time-slice effect that is being used in a World Cup promo for the Disney XD channel.

What does it do? For this project, it allows footage of freestyle footballers to be slowed down in order to provide viewers with insight into how ball-juggling tricks are done.

How does it work? Players were shot using a Phantom Gold high-speed camera from Vision Research that was attached to a rig specially designed for the project. The rig travelled 360 degrees, 180 degrees and then 90 degrees, allowing the action to be frozen at every angle. It was developed by Ant James, creative director at Light Creative.
