You Bet! indie behind Neil Patrick Harris-fronted title
Neil Patrick Harris is set to front a Netflix US gameshow produced by ITV Studios label Rollercoaster Television.
Six-part What’s In The Box is billed a “high-stakes game show” in which contestants take on a major guessing game, which could lead to life-changing prizes, concealed in giant boxes.
The logline describes the title as an “arching game show that tests smarts, strategy and stamina’”.
Pairs of contestants face off in fast-paced trivia, striving to correctly guess what’s inside each box. However, winning a prize is just the beginning and as the game unfolds, shifting alliances and twists mean only those with sharp instincts and luck can hold onto their money.
Rollercoaster Television, which is behind the reboot of 90s game show You Bet! For ITV, will produce the 6 x 45-minute series. James Fox, Dom Waugh, Wes Kauble and Leanne Witcoop will exec produce for Rollercoaster.
The series will debut on Netflix in December this year, and joins Netflix’s growing slate of competition shows including Studio Lambert and The Garden’s Squid Game: The Challenge, Wheelhouse’s Million Dollar Secret and Remarkable’s upcoming talent competition reality series Building the Band.
