Freelance cameraman Graeme McAlpine has been appointed as the new chairman of the Guild of Television Cameramen (GTC).

He replaces Brian Rose who has taken on a new post of GTC Welfare Officer.

McAlpine worked for LWT before going freelance in 1991. His credits include work for ITV, C4 and the BBC in multi-camera OB, studio and PSC work.

As well as big events like the Olympic and Commonwealth Games he also does high-end corporate production, where he specialises in directing and vision-mixing live events.

Other new GTC council appointments include Darren Bramley, who takes on the role of Manufacturer Liaison Officer, Dan Mulligan, who will be Standards Officer and Eric Samuel who becomes Insurance Officer.
