The programme will run for the duration of the World Cup, with guests lined up to appear including ex-Charlton manager Alan Curbishley, PR mastermind Max Clifford and Minister for Sport Richard Caborn.

Harris will oversee topical debate on progress at the World Cup and discussion on other football developments.

Available for download via NTL World each Friday, the show is being produced in conjunction with football agents First Artist Corporation, event management company Splash Events and broadcast consultancy Markettiers4dc.

An accompanying podcast featuring highlights from the show and other special guests is also being made.

Chris Bunyan, head of online at NTL said: 'We're giving footy followers the chance to be at the heart of the action by giving them a new angle on the World Cup.'

The NTL World website has also launched a dedicated World Cup section featuring daily updates on participating teams, video news reports and a live match centre providing scores.

The BBC is currently airing live World Cup matches on broadband.
