An Avid DS Nitris system and Sony HDCam deck were bought specifically to post-produce The World of Nat King Cole for Double Jab Productions.

The programme uses both interviews filmed in HD and archive footage, which had to be up-rezzed to high-definition. It is the first in a series of music documentaries for the new company and is due to air this Christmas.

Double Jab Productions was recently formed by documentary-maker Stuart Watts.

Facilities manager Helen Pyrah said: 'We're based just outside the M25 and we want to catch producers and directors who are looking to produce regional HD productions.

'High-definition is definitely the correct way to go.'
