Equipment dealers are being offered the chance to ‘part-ex’ their old cameras against the price of a new Panasonic P2 Varicam camcorder.
		
	
The Japanese electronics manufacturer is offering up to £13,500 off the retail price of an AJ-HPX3700 or a £8,000 reduction on an AJ-HPX2700 if resellers trade-in selected shooters from Sony, Thomson, Ikegami and Red Digital Cinema.
Older Panasonic tape-based shoulder camcorders are also included in the deal which runs until 30 September 2009.
‘Trade-in’ camcorders need to be in good working condition for the offer to be completed and all will be disposed of in a suitable and environmentally friendly manner.
Cameras accepted in part exchange are:
- Sony Digital Betacam
 - Sony HDCam
 - Sony XDCam Optical Disc 2/3 inch
 - Ikegami EditCam Hard Disk
 - Thomson/GVG Infinity Digital
 - Panasonic DVCPRO50 & DVCPROHD Tape Base shoulder camcorders
 - Red One
 
Cameras excluded from the offer are:
- Sony DVW-700
