Brief Design and produce the titles and refresh the in-show graphics for the latest season of PokerStars’ European Poker Tour.
How it was done The titles needed to reflect the aim of the show, which is to be at the forefront of content for poker coverage.
Art directors Nicky Thompson and Lee Jacobs shot some of the tournament’s top professional players using a variety of techniques to illustrate tension, including using the static from a balloon to make the hairs on one players arm stand up.
The players were then comped into a 3D arena, which was created using Cinema4D.
A cool blue look was built in the grade and light effects were added in After Effects by Duncan Tune and Mark Fairless to reflect the slick, dark and stylish feel synonymous with the tournament.
