AI tool allows VFX artists to change the lighting, background, props, costumes, and on-screen world of a video

Beeble has launched SwitchX, an AI tool to change the lighting, background, props, costumes, and on-screen world of a video.

Designed for use in VFX workflows, SwitchX claims to keep the subject, “consistent, recognisable, and intact,” while making these changes.

Named use cases include moving a subject into a completely new environment for a music video or campaign., turning an everyday room into a professional podcast or studio setup, dramatically relighting a scene to shift mood, time of day, or genre, and modifying props, costumes, or set elements with physically correct light interaction.

Users upload a video or image to the Beeble cloud app, then SwitchX automatically detects the main subject, with an interactive masking tool available. Next, they add a reference image to visually define the desired scene, including lighting, background, and props. Finally, the tool generates a video by analysing the original footage frame by frame and pixel by pixel, using that data to guide the generation process.

It can create a 2K video in five minutes.

“The core idea is simple: switch anything except what matters,” said Hoon Kim, founder and CEO of Beeble. “In any production, controllability and production-ready quality are everything; that’s why SwitchX is a massive breakthrough in video generation AI, and a definitive step toward the future of content creation.”
