Production of Maxi & Helium was completed in five months with AI-driven production workflow

Wonder Studios has revealed Maxi & Helium, a children’s animation produced with AI.
Maxi & Helium is based on Camilla Brinck’s Swedish book series originally titled Musse & Helium, which follows two sibling mice on fantastical adventures discovering courage and creativity. The ten-episode series will be available on YouTube from 10 December, and will have the option to be watched in in English, German, Spanish, and Swedish via YouTube’s multi-language audio feature, leveraging Wonder’s partnership with ElevenLabs.
Sebastian Martinez Founder of On Nox Pictures serves as executive producer alongside Brinck and rights business Team Lindrizia.
Wonder Studios plans to continue to grow the YouTube channel beyond this series, continuing to work with creator Brinck and Team Lindrizia. It hopes this will establish a new model where creators maintain significant IP ownership and creative control while technology allows them to expand globally.
Production on the series was completed in five months, with Wonder Studios claiming a non-AI adaptation would take at least five years as well as selling rights to studios. It says that this was acheived thanks to, “AI and advanced production technology.”
“My vision has always been to share Maxi & Helium’s magic with as many children as possible,” said Brinck. “Thanks to our collaboration with Wonder, we can now bring this universe to life in ways that were once out of reach – still driven by real people and real storytelling, but now able to reach families everywhere faster than ever.”
“Wonder is showing how AI is rewriting the ownership model for creatives – filmmakers are becoming founders, artists are becoming entrepreneurs,” said Justin Hackney, co-founder and chief creative director at Wonder Studios. “With Maxi & Helium, we’re turning a local success into a global phenomenon while keeping more ownership in the hands of the storytellers.”
He added: “At its heart, Maxi & Helium is about two siblings discovering their courage and creativity, themes that resonate across every culture. While offering a blueprint for how local stories can become globally loved, our ultimate aim is to help children learn essential life lessons through a story they’ll cherish.”
