Icons Series - 24 Football Icons In One Drone Shot Explained

The drone glides past Team World stars Gareth Bale, Andriy Shevchenko and Gianfranco Zola into the pro shop to find the ’99 Treble-winning partnership still in business, as Dwight Yorke sells Andy Cole a vintage Manchester United shirt. Nearby, the grit of the international stage returns: Gabriel Batistuta celebrates his goal against England’s Paul Ince, who is seen receiving treatment for his infamous bandaged head injury - a warrior-like nod to his night in Rome.

Moving through the clubhouse, Teddy Sheringham assists behind the bar while Ryan Giggs and Lee Sharpe are finally spotted sharing a beer - a moment decades in the making after Sir Alex Ferguson famously put a stop to their nights out.

The mischief continues as Jimmy Bullard delivers his iconic “half-time team talk” celebration to a bewildered commentary team of Nick Dougherty, Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley, Su-Ann Heng, and Josh Denzel.

High above, Robbie Fowler - the man Liverpool fans call “God” - reenacts his famous celebration, while Aaron Ramsey showcases the touch that earned him a world record for golf ball keepy-uppies.

The drone glides past Nigel de Jong and Phil Jones, who are trading their defensive intensity for the putting green, before following the weekend’s Team Captains Danny Willett and Thomas Bjørn past the sought after Icons Trophy.

Music enthusiast Ruud Gullit is then seen at the piano keys, while Phil Jagielka and Jermain Jenas tend to the locker rooms. John Terry is seen holding court for the cameras, while Theo Walcott proudly dons the “Winner’s Cream Jacket” from his 2025 Icons Series triumph.

The details continue as Joe Hart gets his Head & Shoulders ready for the cameras; John Arne Riise takes a practice swing with a golf club (with a wink to his infamous incident); and David Ginola pauses at the mirror, “because he’s worth it,” to style his trademark hair.

As the drone bursts out of the clubhouse and toward the 1st tee grandstand. The words say it all: “THE BATTLEFIELD HAS CHANGED.”

Going through the tunnel it ends with the five-time Champions League winner, Gareth Bale - the man who was questioned for putting golf ahead of almost everything.
