HawkEye technology allows viewers to see the action through the players’ points of view

The WTA has revealed its content plans for the 2026 season, including the addition of Sony Hawk-Eye’s HawkVision technology. 

This allows tennis fans to watch the action from the points of view of the players, as part of real-time coverage. Sky Sports is the WTA rights holder in the UK, and its coverage where viewers will be able to see this technology in action. 

In addition, the WTA will produce a number of new and returning content series throughout the campaign, including Behind the Curtain, Quickfire Questions, and Trophies of the Tour. It has also released a cinematic hero spot that celebrates the Tour, featuring several of its top players. You can watch this below. 

In 2025, The tour’s social media following grew 28% year-on-year to 8.2 million, while total social video views and engagements surpassed 1.6 billion, up 90% year-on-year.
