TUESDAY: Rumpus single unable to match comedian’s previous stunts about David Beckham and Shell

Activist comedian Joe Lycett peered into Britain’s polluted waterways in his latest collaboration with Rumpus Media.
The single was unable to compete with his previous campaign against David Beckham, which scored 910,000 (6.6%) on a Thursday in December 2022, or his exposé on oil company Shell which took in 820,000 (5.4%) in the same slot on a Sunday in October 2021.
It was significantly adrift of the 1.2m (8.7%) slot average.
The doc was on a par with the second instalment of Channel 5’s Killer Crocs with Steve Backshall which informed 600,000 (4.8%), broadly level with the previous night’s opener of 620,000 (4.5%).
The second episode of ITV1’s stripped Covid drama Breathtaking, which is boxsetted on ITVX, drew a slot-winning 2.4m (19.6%). This was broadly on par with Monday’s premiere which brought in 2.5m (18.5%).
Sort Your Life Out with Stacey Solomon returned for a fourth outing on BBC1, with 2.1m (16.9%), edging ahead of the previous series’ launch, which cleaned up with 1.9m (16.7%) in the earlier 8pm slot on a Thursday in September.
QI XL continued on BBC2 with 1m (8.1%), according to Barb data provided by overnights.tv.
Studio Lambert’s six-part comedy drama Boarders debuted on BBC3 with 40,000 (0.3%), slightly behind Domino Day which opened with 53,000 (0.3%) in the same slot on a Wednesday earlier this month. It was broadly level with the 46,000 (0.3%) benchmark.
