Processing and re-purposing business Refine has added two new members of staff  and opened a new content aggregation and sales division for clients who store content with the company.

Patrick O’Connor-Read joins from Fireworks International as head of platforms and content while former Input Media man Andrew Tomczak becomes head of library and archive.

In his previous role, O’Connor-Read spent 16 months as director of digital distribution, managing the global digital exploitation of an extensive library of film, TV and digital rights with deals covering internet, mobile, IPTV, VOD and Pay TV rights.

His new role has been created to spearhead the new division which will look to establish and commercialise relationships between Refine’s content owners and platforms to help both sides execute a profitable digital strategy.

“I’m looking forward to using my experience and relationships to create value for content owners who work with Refine,” he said. “The company is beautifully positioned to help content owners monetize their digital rights and platforms source content.”

Refine’s business is based on the physical and digital centralisation of content, assisting clients in exploiting content for packaged media - such as DVD and Blu-ray - and digital media platforms and also fulfilling international tape dubbing and HD requirements.
