RR Media has acquired content distribution, management and playout services firm Satlink Communications for $19m (£12m).

RR Media chief executive Avi Cohen said: “This acquisition, along with the recent acquisition of ESS and others made in recent years, forms our strategy to increase the scale of the company by expanding our global presence, growing our global distribution network and content management services, expanding our service offering, enhancing our mix of premium customers and leveraging worldwide industry expertise.” RR Media, formerly RR Sat, acquired content services firm JCA in 2013.
