The BBC2 drama House of Saddam and ITV1 skating extravaganza Dancing on Ice are the front-runners to win big at this year's RTS Craft and Design Awards after both shows picked up three nominations each.

House of Saddam is in the running for awards thanks to Alexandra Caulfield's costumes, Marella Shearer's make-up work and Maurice Cain's production design.

Dancing on Ice attracted category nominations for Multicamera Work thanks to Paul Kirrage, Lighting for Multicamera via Dave Davey and Production Design (Entertainment and Non Drama Productions) through Markus Blee.

Blee is also nominated in the same category for his work, jointly with Alison Howe, on Glastonbury coverage for the BBC.

Other nominations of note include the picture enhancement category where post house Pepper is nominated twice with Kevin Horsewood and Dan Coles fighting it out with The Farm's Aiden Farrell.

BBC dramas Criminal Justice and Spooks are short-listed for two awards each with the former up for best sound team and best drama editing via Sarah Brewerton and the latter nominated for best drama photography and drama editing.

The RTS Craft and Design awards will be presented on 24 November 2008 at the Intercontinental hotel on Park Lane in London.
