Soho talent agency Satusfaction Post Production is backing an editing project for the Rushes Soho Shorts that will see three editing teams cut different short films from the same material.

The teams will be guided by a written brief but without the director being present with them during the edit.

The results of the project will form part of the short film festival’s master classes on 26 and 27 July at Soho Film Lab.

Analysis of each 3-4-min film will aim to show filmmakers how editors from different genres and levels of experience can affect the final cut of a short drama.

Satusfaction has teamed up with Ascent 142, Storm HD Post Production, Rushes and Jungle who will provide graders and dubbing mixers for the teams taking part in the challenge.

The editors include Brian Hovmand, Christian Brown and Hugo Fowler.

Ascent 142 sound mixer Paul Harris and Rushes colourist Simone Grattarola are both set to be involved.
