SGO has formed a strategic alliance with 3ality Digital Systems that will see the two companies work together to develop and deliver stereoscopic 3D services and technology.

3ality Digital will support SGO and promote the company’s high-end DI post-production system Mistika as part of a partnership that will also allow for ‘seamless’ metadata feeds from set to post.

Chief executive and founder Steve Schklair said: “Being software driven, our goal is to provide the industry with exceptional 3D work-flow using Mistika.”

Geoff Mills, the director of sales and operations at SGO UK, said: “There is no doubt that the market rightly views Mistika as having the very best stereo 3D tool-set and work flow. This alliance with 3ality Digital further proves it is the system of choice.”

As part of the deal, 3ality will take delivery of a Mistika system for its Burbank HQ.

SGO also unveiled Mistika Live at IBC.

The application is a specialised Mistika hardware and software configuration that enables Mistika’s stereoscopic geometry correction and colour correction tools to be used either on-set as a preview facility while shooting, or in a live environment.

Other Mistika developments included support for Avid’s DNxHD as well as ARRI, Silicon Images and Phantom RAW file formats.
