Former Aston Villa & Scotland player Rachel Corsie joins the punditry team
Sky Sports has announced a “multiview” programme and YouTube channel for the upcoming WSL season.
The broadcaster is now airing 118 games-per-season from the competition, after a five-year rights deal signed last year. The BBC is showing 21 others, with Buzz 16 to produce its coverage.
For the 2025/26 season, Sky Sports is introducing a new programme to build up to all Sunday 12pm kickoffs, with the broadcaster showing all games live at that time. Starting from 11, this will have 60-minute build-up to kick off, featuring the latest news and team updates from every ground, plus player-focused content, followed by Sky Sports’ separate Multiview programme, which moves from ground to ground covering all the goals and big moments, complete with one dedicated commentary team and half-time analysis.
The build up will be presented from a new studio where former Aston Villa and Scotland captain Rachel Corsie will join Izzy Christiansen as a pundit. Presenter Caroline Barker will also be supplemented by new social reporters Rhyanna Parara and Alex Bailess, who will cover the latest news from social media. Ellen Ellard becomes the new lead commentator on Sky Sports’ WSL coverage. Multiview’s first programme, on 7 September, will have Liverpool v Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa, Manchester United v Leicester City, and Tottenham v West Ham.
A similar programme will be produced for the Premier League later in the season, as announced last month.
In addition to TV coverage, Sky Sports is also launching a WSL YouTube channel, which will house match highlights of every goal, streams of selected live matches, exclusive interviews and content showcasing the biggest personalities from across the league. This is alongside the WSL’s own YouTube channel, which is run by Little Dot. The Sky Sports app will also have this content, as well as match centres with free scores and stats and live streams for subscribers.
Jordan Nobbs and Nikita Parris’ From Pitch To Pod podcast will also return to cover the WSL.
Sky’s chief sports officer, Jonathan Licht, said: “This Friday we’re excited to be kicking off our new landmark partnership with the WSL. As the biggest stars of the women’s game are back in action, we’re ready to give fans the best possible viewing experience. With 90% of WSL matches live in one place. Sunday lunchtimes will become the WSL’s must-watch slot, with a new flagship show and a choice of live match viewing. Alongside all the live coverage, we will be expanding our content across social, welcoming more fans and keeping them entertained all season. Ensuring they never miss a moment.”
