Sony says it is increasing production of its PMW-F3 camera, having received 200 UK orders since the 35mm device was unveiled at the end of last year.

Sony UK media channel manager David Cheesman said the manufacturer had seen “phenomenal” demand for the camera, with over 200 pre-orders in the UK alone.

He said: “We delivered the first units to Sony specialist dealers last week ahead of BVE for them to showcase the units on their stands. Since the camera’s first public viewing last week there has been a further surge in interest for the camera.

“The priority is to now fulfil the 200 back-orders received to date and we are ramping up production of the F3 as part of our commitment to meeting the huge demand for this camera and working extremely closely with our specialist dealers to meet the high demand from hire companies.”
