Company delivers graphics for T20 Cricket World Cup, Rugby League World Cup, and Rugby Union World Cup
AE Live has revealed its work on the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Rugby League World Cup, and Women’s Rugby World Cup.
Four graphics teams with three operators each from its offices in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, and India were used for the cricket competition, which came to an end on Sunday with England winning the trophy for the second time. The tournament was shown by Sky Sports in the UK, with Channel 4 sharing the rights for the final after England qualified.
Spidercam robotic camera technology was used to deliver augmented reality graphics for all matches beginning with the Super 12 stage through to the final.
Meanwhile, AE Live’s UK-based team provided graphics for the BBC Sport and Whisper TV broadcast coverage of the men’s and women’s matches at the Rugby League World Cup. The company is remotely supporting Whisper with match graphics from its operational base in Ealing, while teams are both on-site and working remotely in Salford to manage host broadcast and presentation graphics for coverage on BBC Sport.
Finally, AE Live provided broadcast graphics and augmented reality services for the Women’s Rugby World Cup, hosted in New Zealand. The company was also the tournament’s official timekeeper for the broadcast and in-stadia display feeds, and its creative agency, Ignite, designed the graphics look for the event.
Nick Baily, CEO, AE Live, said: “Having three top tier World Cups overlapping is quite rare. This period is a testament to the global resources that AE Live can deploy. These events demand the very best from us in terms of delivering high quality data visualisation across both on-screen graphics and AR and we have been able to pool resources across our global network of creatives, technicians and operational specialists to deliver a world-class product on all three events.”
