Salford’s studios and post-production facility Dock10 is rebranding as MediaCity Studios and MediaCity Post.

The move comes as part of MediaCity’s new strategic vision under the leadership of new CEO Alice Webb and owners Landsec, as they look to evolve MediaCity to a creative brand in its own right.

Dock10 first opened 15 years ago and has 10 television studios purpose-built to handle any size and style of show. Its credits include Match of the Day, A League of Their Own, The Voice UK, Comic Relief and Blue Peter.

As MediaCity Studios and MediaCity Post, it is currently working with the BBC on its FIFA World Cup coverage. This combines multiple tracked cameras with in-studio LED screens and multiple virtual studio environments, together with high volume, fast-turnaround post-production in HDR.

“MediaCity has always been where bold ideas happen,” said Alice Webb, CEO of MediaCity. “Ideas that entertain, inform and inspire audiences around the world. Bringing our studios and post-production facilities under the MediaCity banner reflects our ambition to build on that legacy and to continue to create a seamless ecosystem where creativity, technology and culture effortlessly come together and shape the future.

“MediaCity is a platform that turns creativity, technology and culture into scalable, long-term value for audiences everywhere, just as we are doing with the BBC for the World Cup. MediaCity Studios & MediaCity Post are central to that offering.”
